Yes, we make money when you use our links and codes. No, that doesn't change the reviews. Here is exactly how it works, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).
Affiliate links and discount codes
Most outbound links to supplement brands on Whatsuppwithlucas are affiliate links, and most discount codes we share are tracked to us. If you click through and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — in many cases the code also saves you money. Some brands pay a flat fee, some a percentage; the amounts vary and we don't publish them. If a link or code isn't paying us, it makes no difference to how the product gets covered.
Free product
Brands send us supplements to test, and we accept them. That's how a reviewer gets access to new formulas before they're on shelves. Free product does not buy a positive review. Plenty of things we've been sent got a mediocre score or never got covered at all.
Sponsorships and paid content
Some posts, videos, and social content are paid partnerships. Payment may be cash, product, or both. Paid content is labeled clearly as "sponsored," "ad," "paid partnership," "#ad," or similar, at the point where you see it — not buried at the bottom of a page.
What money does not buy
- Sponsors don't see reviews before they publish.
- Sponsors don't approve scripts and don't get veto power.
- We don't raise a score, hide a weak dose, or bury a bad ingredient panel for a partner.
- We don't review products we haven't personally used.
If a sponsored product underperforms, we say so. If we wouldn't use it, we don't promote it. Reviews are our honest opinion based on testing, the label, and published research, and results vary from person to person.
